Thanks for your thoughts on this. Yes, I think economic factors play a major role, but I, for one, don’t understand the subtleties yet. (See this for example: https://aeon.co/ideas/economics-helps-explain-why-suicide-is-more-common-among-protestants and. https://mpra.ub.uni-muenchen.de/80749/ which confuse the issue). Also, growth mindset seems to protect against some of the negative effects of poverty, so perhaps we could add that in the meanwhile? Otherwise, your suggestion about considering the psychological and practical aspects of economic downturns resonates deeply with me. Thanks for the comment.
