Looking for the Light
A Poem About Hope, Magic, and Manifestation
When you feel like you must take leave of this world,
Suicide and self-destruction are not the only options.
There are other places to visit in your mind,
But “reality” will fight you tooth and nail.
Be prepared,
As you take flight.
First stop—IMAGINATION.
A place where possibilities are baked
Like fudge,
Before it fills you with its chocolatey delight.
When you’re tired of making mental movies,
Pretend.
SIMULATION is stimulation for the mind as actor,
Who wants to become its character.
If this is all too silly for you,
Then focus on your breath.
MEDITATION is a path to freedom
From this boring reality bound by perception.
The life you feel and see
Projects from the mind’s machine.
Conscious and unconscious
Woes and wonders
Are scrambling about the screen
That you call “reality.”
